Instructors
Mr. Paik, 2nd Degree Black Belt, began studying Tang Soo
Do in October 2000 under the instruction of Master Christian Klacko at
Cambridge Tang Soo Do.
In January 2005, Mr. Paik became the first student to start and receive
his black belt at Cambridge Tang Soo Do. Mr. Paik continues to compete in
numerous tournaments throughout the year, whenever possible. Due to his
extensive business travel, Mr. Paik has worked hard to maintain his
training wherever he goes. In the past, he has trained with the following
people:
- Master Karl Courage, member of the International Tang Soo Do Federation in Encinitas, CA.
- Mr. Ishido Tadao, retired boxer in Utsunomiya, Japan.
- Master Baek, owner of a Hapkido / Taekwondo school in Daejeon, South Korea.
- Mestre Chuvisco, owner of
Boston Capoeira in Boston, Massachusetts.
- Master Patrick Marsch, member of the World Tang Soo Do Association in UCSD, CA.
Mr. Paik encourages his students to diversify their training regimen. By
trying different things, it is possible to learn what works for a person
and what does not. As an instructor, Mr. Paik focuses on building stamina
and technical ability, as well as maintaining a high level of energy and
spirit in his classes.
Mr. Paik believes in exploring all aspects of the human body to balance the
physical aspects of studying Tang Soo Do. In particular, Mr. Paik is
continually studying anatomy, physiology, nutrition, and philosophy to
become more self-aware. He is currently employed as an embedded software
engineer at a telecommunications company.
